Under the Joint Project of the European Union and the Council of Europe on targeting crime proceeds on the Internet in South-eastern Europe and Turkey – iPROCEEDS, one employee of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia from Cyber Crime Unit and one prosecutors assistent from Higher Prosecutors Office in Belgrade from Special Prosecutors Office for Cyber Crime will attend the long-distance master programme MSc Forensic Computing and Cybercrime Investigation offered by the University College Dublin, Ireland.
Participation in the programme is financed by iPROCEEDS project for duration of 24 months and will cover modules like Computer Forensics, Financial Investigation Techniques – Following the Money, Network Investigations, Mobile Devices Investigation, Live Data Forensics, VoIP and Wireless Investigations and others. Learning will take place through a mix of lectures, hands-on labs, case studies, reading, small group and individual exercises, tool demonstrations and in depth-discussions.
Equipped with increased knowledge and improved skills gained during the programme, the student will, already during the course of the programme, strengthen the capacity of Cyber Crime Unit of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia and Special Prosecutors Office for Cyber Crime of the Higher Prosecutors Office in Belgrade as a beneficiary of the project, to search, seize and confiscate cybercrime proceeds and prevent money laundering on the Internet.
