Regarding the indictment filed by the Higher Public Prosecution Office in Novi Sad against 13 persons for whom there is reasonable suspicion that they committed the criminal acts described in the indictment, which resulted in the collapse of the canopy of the Novi Sad Railway station on 1st November 2024, and tragic death of fifteen persons and serious injures of two, the Supreme Public Prosecutor Zagorka Dolovac informs the public of the following:

- The Higher Public Prosecution Office in Novi Sad has initiated the procedure of making available to the general public all the evidentiary documentation and information available to the prosecution office on the official computer servers of the public prosecution office that are publicly accessible.

- Due to the exceptional volume, the uploading is being carried out in phases in order to avoid congestion of access and the normal functioning of the network environment.

- All persons who have been reported for any criminal offense related to the protests, in which victims are students and professors of any university faculty in the Republic of Serbia, are being criminally processed before the competent public prosecution offices and the procedings are ongoing, and the public will be regularly informed about them.

- At this moment, all previously detained students have been released. The proceedings conducted before the public prosecution offices against students who participated in the protests are being analyzed in detail and all those in which crucial evidence of criminal liability is missing will be discontinued.

In accordance with the above, the Public Prosecution Offices of the Republic of Serbia have positively responded to the requests submitted by the protesting students to the Supreme Public Prosecution Office on 25 December 2024.

However, the Supreme Public Prosecutor Zagorka Dolovac and the Supreme Public Prosecution Office continue to stand by their call for a meeting between them and students’ representatives to be held as soon as possible, for the purpose of clarificaton of certain requests and providing additional information.
